Suppose Donald Trump is cleared of all accusations in the DC case, which alleges that he incited unrest at the Capitol. These claims are grave and carry significant consequences. The presiding judge advised Trump against lashing out on social media against those involved.

Recently, the Department of Justice, a formidable opponent in court, issued a protective order against Trump. He has until Monday at 5pm to respond. Nevertheless, Trump’s recent social media posts have been notably provocative, possibly setting him up for a contempt of court charge. He has taken aim not just at Special Prosecutor Smith but also at Judge Tanya Chutkan. Such actions can lead to negative consequences.

It’s ironic that Trump labels others as “unhinged.” His recent messages may make some wonder if he’s planning to claim some form of mental impairment in defense. Some speculate he might even be courting imprisonment to energize his supporters, but that remains speculative.
