Soros-Funded DA Facing Recall

(TheIndependentStar.com) – A campaign to recall a California district attorney, funded by leftist billionaire George Soros, has progressed to the stage where it will be put to a vote, as confirmed by official county documents.

The movement to remove Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price from office has garnered 74,757 validated signatures, surpassing the required threshold by more than 1,000, as announced by the Alameda County Registrar of Voters on Monday.

The group leading this initiative, Save Alameda for Everyone, contends that Price has shown a tendency to favor offenders at the expense of victims, correlating her tenure with a rise in crime within the community, The Daily Caller reports.

Price’s electoral campaign was built on promises to decrease the prison population, mitigate sentences for individuals younger than 25, and intensify scrutiny on purported police wrongdoings, The San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Since assuming office in January 2023, there’s been a noticeable increase in criminal activity throughout Alameda County.

This surge in crime has been especially significant in Oakland, the county’s largest city, where violent crime escalated by 21% in the first ten months of Price’s administration, as indicated by police records.

In her 2018 district attorney bid, Price received a $700,000 contribution from the California Justice and Public Safety PAC, a fund predominantly supported by Soros.

Despite her initial defeat in 2018, Price secured victory in the 2022 elections.

Upon her election in 2022, Price has instituted several reforms aimed at incorporating racial and “restorative” justice principles into the county’s legal proceedings.

Her office distributed training materials asserting that “the carceral state grew out of chattel slavery” and “modern policing grew out of slave patrols.”

This education advocates for a strategy that emphasizes “healing” and addressing the underlying causes of crime, rather than mere punishment.

“Price has violated victims’ rights, ignored victim pleas and disrespected people who have been victimized by some of the worst crimes imaginable,” states the website of Save Alameda for Everyone.

“She has told mothers that the lives of their children are worth less than the lives of the offender,” the website adds.

Brenda Grisham, a leader in the campaign and a mother who lost her child to homicide, is prominently featured on Save Alameda for Everyone’s website.
