(TheIndependentStar.com) – A United States House of Representatives committee hearing exploded into a shouting match between US Reps. James Comer (R-KY), the Oversight Committee chairman, and Jamie Raskin (D-MD), the ranking member, as they had a combative exchange regarding the impeachment investigation into Joe Biden.

This confrontation unfolded during a hearing of the House Oversight Committee, which was named “Defending America from the Chinese Communist Party’s Political Warfare, Part I.”
Raskin initiated the discord by criticizing the impeachment inquiry into President Biden, an inquiry that the House decided to initiate in December.
“It’s obviously been dropped and yet this was the genesis of our investigation,” Raskin articulated, referencing an FBI FD-1023 form disclosed by Republican Senator Chuck Grassley from Iowa.
Comer countered this assertion by stating it was “simply not true,” as cited by The Daily Caller.
The House passed a resolution to officially commence an impeachment inquiry focused on the business transactions of Biden’s family, with the vote tallying at 221-212.
Documentation and bank records revealed by Comer indicated that the Biden family had received several million dollars from entities in China.
“Are you saying the bank statements are Russian disinformation, that the Bidens took $9,000 from China?” Comer inquired.
“You’ve been talking about bank statements for over a year, but they don’t show anything other than there was no crime,” Raskin responded.
A noteworthy piece of evidence presented by Comer during the inquiry into the Bidens was an email from June 2018 sent by a bank’s money laundering investigator.
This email voiced concerns regarding the business engagements of Hunter Biden, especially highlighting the legal predicaments of one of his business associates.
“So it’s okay, as Tony Bobulinski said, for China to bribe Joe Biden’s family with $9 million?” was Comer’s retort.
“But that’s the lie that’s been discredited,” asserted Raskin.
Accusations have been leveled against Raskin for allegedly attempting to “smear and defame” Bobulinski, a former business collaborator of Hunter Biden who has provided assistance to the House Oversight Committee’s investigation.
“Y’all have an obsession with Russia and Trump. It’s disturbing. You need therapy, Mr. Raskin,” Comer stated.
“You need therapy,” his opponent replied, with the back-and-forth continuing for several more minutes.
