Elitist Prof Suspended

(TheIndependentStar.com) – Recently, New York University took action against an adjunct professor, Amin Husain, known for his vocal antisemitic views, by suspending him following the emergence of a video where he is seen denying atrocities by Hamas terrorists.

The media reported on the incident, which involved a video from a December 5 teach-in organized by the Students for Justice in Palestine at The New School in New York City. In this video, Husain defended Hamas and criticized Israel.

Husain, in the footage acquired by S.A.F.E. Campus, an organization fighting antisemitism in U.S. colleges, was heard advising, “Don’t take what the media says. It’s really important… Because these kind of questions try to put you on the defensive.”

He also made a controversial statement about New York, referring to it as a “Zionist city” and urging realism in this context.

Following the media’s coverage of the story, NYU confirmed Husain’s suspension. John Beckman, an NYU spokesman, stated, “Mr. Husain has been suspended and is not currently teaching any classes at NYU.” He highlighted the university’s adherence to its discrimination and anti-harassment policies.

The antisemitism watchdog Canary Mission has thoroughly documented Husain’s actions. His profile reveals his involvement in organizing violent disruptions in New York City, espousing hatred against America, the police, and inciting against supporters of Israel through his group, Within Our Lifetime (WOL).

He has shown support for terrorist organizations and expressed hostility towards Israel. Husain himself recognized the accuracy of his Canary Mission profile, proudly referring to his antisemitic reputation.

Canary Mission has tracked Husain’s rhetoric since 2017, noting his explicit calls for attacks on New York City’s infrastructure.

A spokesperson from the organization welcomed Husain’s suspension for public safety reasons but emphasized that mere suspension is not enough, urging NYU to terminate his employment.

Husain also has connections to The New School of Public Engagement and Pratt Institute, as indicated on his LinkedIn profile. However, representatives from both institutions confirmed his lack of affiliation with them since 2019. Husain did not respond to requests for comment from the media.
