Homeland Security Warns of Terrorist Attacks

Following President Donald Trump’s strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) now warns Americans about potential terrorist attacks on U.S. soil.

Iran has vowed retaliation as DHS officials issue an urgent terrorism advisory highlighting heightened risks from Iranian-backed cells operating within American borders.

The DHS issued the National Terrorism Advisory System bulletin just hours after American B-2 bombers conducted precision strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites.

Dubbed “Operation Midnight Hammer,” the military operation involved over 125 warplanes, submarines, and surface warships targeting three Iranian nuclear facilities with bunker-buster bombs designed to destroy underground installations.

Intelligence analysts had been preparing this warning earlier in the month, anticipating Iran’s response to any U.S. military action.

DHS officials warn that pro-Iranian hacktivists and government-affiliated cyber actors may launch digital attacks against American infrastructure and interests.

The bulletin also cautions about more serious physical threats if Iranian leadership calls for violence.

The advisory specifically notes that “the likelihood of violent extremists in the Homeland independently mobilizing to violence in response to the conflict would likely increase if Iranian leadership issued a religious ruling calling for retaliatory violence against targets in the Homeland.”

America’s law enforcement agencies have already disrupted multiple Iranian-backed plots within U.S. borders since 2020.

These revelations come as the latest escalation follows Israel’s attacks on Iran that began on June 13 after Iran previously threatened retaliation if the United States joined Israel’s operations.

American intelligence experts remain particularly concerned about threats to Jewish communities and institutions.

“Multiple recent Homeland terrorist attacks have been motivated by anti-Semitic or anti-Israel sentiment, and the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict could contribute to US-based individuals plotting additional attacks,” the advisory warned.

In response to these threats, New York City has already deployed additional law enforcement resources to sensitive sites.

The NYPD is working with federal partners to monitor potential impacts on the city, while Governor Kathy Hochul has increased security measures at MTA and Port Authority facilities.

Amid these alarming threats, the Trump administration has prioritized protecting Americans by taking direct action against terrorists abroad while strengthening homeland security.

The current advisory is set to remain active for the next three months as security agencies remain vigilant against potential Iranian-sponsored attacks on American soil.
