BULLETS FLY at Border Facility, SUSPECT DEAD

Crime scene with covered body and hand exposed.

In a tense shootout between police officers and a seemingly ordinary man, law and order ultimately prevailed.

A heavily armed man opened fire at a Border Patrol facility in McAllen, Texas, before being shot dead by authorities.

The suspect, 27-year-old Ryan Louis Mosqueda from Michigan, arrived wearing tactical gear and unleashed dozens of rounds at the building entrance.

He injured two officers and a Border Patrol employee in what appears to be a premeditated attack on law enforcement protecting the southern border.

The shooting occurred at a Border Patrol sector annex near the US-Mexico border and McAllen International Airport.

Mosqueda, who had no known criminal record, fired “many dozens of rounds” at the building and the agents inside before law enforcement responded with deadly force, ending the attack.

McAllen Police Chief Victor Rodriguez confirmed the suspect was quickly neutralized after his barrage of gunfire.

Authorities recovered additional weapons and ammunition from Mosqueda’s vehicle, which had Michigan license plates and undecipherable spray-painted lettering on its exterior.

More concerning is that Mosqueda had been reported missing from Weslaco, Texas, just hours before launching his attack, suggesting this was a planned assault rather than a spontaneous incident.

Among the injured was a 10-year veteran of the McAllen Police Department who suffered a gunshot wound to the knee. The other two injuries were reportedly less severe.

Thankfully, no federal officers were shot or wounded during the incident.

However, the attack led to the temporary closure of the nearby McAllen International Airport, resulting in flight delays and traffic disruptions throughout the morning.

The FBI has now taken over the investigation, though authorities have not yet classified the incident as terrorism.

Investigators are still working to determine Mosqueda’s motive for targeting border enforcement agents, who already face tremendous challenges managing the sprawling southern border.

“Incidents like these make us realize that we’ve to always be on guard to keep our community safe,” said Chief Victor Rodriguez in the aftermath of the shooting.

This attack comes at a time when the Trump administration is working overtime to end the illegal immigration crisis inherited from the Biden administration.

Law enforcement officials have assured the public that no further threats are believed to exist related to this incident.

The swift response by local police and federal agents undoubtedly prevented what could have been a much more devastating attack on the facility.
