Democrats Launch Controversial Probe

SENSELESS DEMOCRAT PROBE

House Democrats launch yet another politically motivated investigation, this time targeting FBI Director Kash Patel over his lawful use of government aircraft—a desperate attempt to undermine President Trump’s key appointee with manufactured controversy.

Story Overview

  • Democrats Jamie Raskin and Sydney Kamlager-Dove investigate Patel’s FBI jet travel to personal events
  • Investigation focuses on trips to a Pennsylvania wrestling match and a Texas ranch visit
  • FBI directors are required by policy to use government aircraft for all travel, including personal trips
  • Democrats lack subpoena power as the minority party, and can only request records voluntarily

Democrats Target Trump’s FBI Director With Baseless Probe

House Judiciary Committee Democrats Jamie Raskin of Maryland and Sydney Kamlager-Dove of California have launched an investigation into FBI Director Kash Patel’s use of government aircraft.

The probe centers on Patel’s October 25, 2025, flight to Pennsylvania State University, where his girlfriend performed at a wrestling match, and then to Nashville. Democrats characterize this as an improper “date night” with no official business purpose, demanding travel records by December 15, 2025.

Standard Protocol Twisted Into Political Attack

Executive branch policy explicitly requires FBI directors to use government aircraft for all travel, whether official or personal. This mandate ensures directors maintain access to secure communications and can respond quickly to emergencies.

Directors must reimburse the government at coach fare rates for personal flights and cover costs for any accompanying family or friends. The policy exists for legitimate security and operational reasons, not as a perk for government officials.

Previous Investigations Already Underway

This latest Democrat probe follows earlier CBS News reporting in May 2025 questioning Patel’s use of aircraft, including trips to Las Vegas, where he owns a home, and Nashville, where his girlfriend resides.

Senate Democrats previously requested a Government Accountability Office review of Patel’s travel patterns. Public flight logs and social media posts by Patel’s girlfriend reportedly revealed the travel details that sparked Democrat interest in pursuing further investigation.

Texas Ranch Visit Draws Additional Scrutiny

Democrats also questioned Patel’s four-day trip to San Angelo, Texas, where Republican donor Bubba Saulsbury hosted him at Boondoggle Ranch. The Wall Street Journal first reported this visit to what Democrats described as “a scenic hunting resort.”

Raskin and Kamlager-Dove suggested the ranch’s self-described mission to “waste money or time on unnecessary or questionable projects” somehow reflected poorly on Patel’s judgment in accepting the invitation.

Minority Party Lacks Enforcement Power

Despite their demands for records, Raskin and Kamlager-Dove possess no subpoena authority as minority party members. They can only request voluntary compliance from the FBI, which has not immediately responded to their inquiries.

The Democrats emphasized that government aircraft belong to taxpayers, not individual officials, though this ignores the established security protocols requiring directors to use such transportation.

This investigation represents another example of Democrat attempts to harass Trump administration officials through congressional oversight powers.
