(TheIndependentStar.com) – In new evidence that Donald Trump’s life is constantly in danger, a woman from Texas has been arrested in the nation’s capital with a firearm over allegations of threatening the former president.
This arrest follows closely on the heels of an assassination attempt on Trump during a rally on July 13.
According to reports by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), they were tipped off about the suspect, Christina Montoya from San Antonio, who had traveled to the capital city.
Upon her arrest, authorities discovered she was in possession of an unregistered firearm and a magazine, as per KENS 5, cited by Breitbart News.
Trump was not in the city at the time of Montoya’s arrest; he was reportedly in the Hamptons engaging with donors.
Details regarding the specific nature of the threats Montoya allegedly directed at Trump remain vague, with unclear information about the timing relative to her arrest. The police documentation does note an “offense start date” of July 20, 2024.
The arrest took place less than a mile from Capitol Hill and approximately three miles from the White House.
At the time of her apprehension, Montoya was found with the aforementioned firearm and magazine, the authorities confirmed through KENS 5.
In a related incident, after surviving a shooting at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Trump publicly attributed his safety to divine intervention while addressing a subsequent gathering in Atlanta, Georgia.
Trump praised the valor of the Secret Service agents who defended him when the assailant, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, initiated gunfire.
Trump recounted the harrowing experience of bullets narrowly missing him, exclaiming, “The first one was not a good situation, not a good situation. That was really something incredible. That was from God. That was from God. Because the chances… that was from God. For all of you non-believers, that one was from God, right?”
During this assault, one of the bullets grazed the upper section of Trump’s ear, causing visible bleeding on his face.
Crooks, a 20-year-old from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, was neutralized by Secret Service officers at the scene.
This incident marked the most severe attempt on the life of a president or presidential candidate since the attempt on Ronald Reagan in 1981.
According to KENS 5, Montoya is facing charges for possession of an unregistered firearm, carrying a pistol without a license, and making threats against a former president, with Donald Trump designated as the victim in the latter charge.
