Voters Make Final Decision On Liz Cheney

In a segment of CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360,” Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) was on the chopping block as voters in the deep-red state were asked if they would support Cheney in a bid for a fourth term.

When asked the question by correspondent Randy Kaye, one self-described Trump supporter exclaimed, “Hell no!”

She went on to clarify her emphatic statement, noting that Cheney “done us dirty.”

“Look at how she’s done Trump. I’m a Trump fan,” the GOP voter added, continuing, “she’s supposed to be supporting him. She’s a Republican, for crying out loud.”

Another voter responded to the question with a decisive “absolutely not,” saying she believes Cheney — a three-term Congresswoman for Wyoming — had “three [terms] too many.

Others pointed to Cheney’s role in the Jan. 6 Select Committee’s investigation and subsequent hearing as the source of their disdain.

“I find her work on the Jan. 6 committee just repulsive,” one voter said. Others described the Jan. 6 hearing as a “witch hunt,” “propaganda,” a “hoax,” and a “kangaroo court.”

In the state where Trump received 70 percent support, the backlash toward Cheney isn’t unsurprising, and it appears the evidence brought forward during the hearings hasn’t dampened any Trump support.

Instead, one voter suggested Trump should have been allowed to have a defense team present to rebut the panel’s claims.

Cheney will face off against Trump-endorsed Harriet Hagerman for the at-large Congressional district seat in the house. The only seat afforded to the state given its small population.
