President Biden gave a speech in front of union supporters at the Philly Shipyard in Philadelphia. However, his appearance left a lot to be desired as he made multiple gaffes throughout the speech which once again drew concern and backlash from social media users.
In his speech, Biden touted his economic policies, which he often refers to as “Bidenomics,” still his excitement during the event was not enough as he often stumbled over his words.
Biden started off by stating that the people on Wall Street were great, but they were not the ones who helped build America. He then said “The middle class was built by the middle class,” making a mistake in his frequent comment that the country was built by the middle class.
As he continued his idea he spoke about “trickle-down economics” and claimed that regular people, like his father, had never benefited from these types of policies.
Mike LaChance, a conservative blogger tweeted mockingly in response to the speech that “He’s fine. This is fine.”
Steve Guest, a conservative commentator, also argued that Biden with this speech provided insight that was at the level of his Vice President Kamala Harris. Harris is also known for making frequent gaffes when speaking.
Jack Lombardi, a Republican congressional candidate also responded to the speech arguing that the President was lying to the American public and that most low-wage workers need to be working multiple jobs in order to survive with the circumstances created by the “Bidenomics.”
