Criticism is mounting among right-wing circles in response to allegations that President Biden’s staff have been instructed to publicly assert that the President has six grandchildren, thereby excluding the 4-year-old daughter of his son, Hunter Biden.
Hunter Biden recently resolved his child maintenance case in Arkansas, bringing closure to a prolonged dispute regarding the paternity of his young daughter. This child, however, is not recognized by President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden as their seventh grandchild.
Court documents revealed last Thursday that Hunter agreed to bestow some of his artworks upon his daughter, and the child’s mother, Lunden Alexis Roberts, decided to retract her request to change their daughter’s surname to “Biden.”
An exposé from The New York Times on Saturday suggested that the family discord stemmed from financial issues, toxic politics, and the implications of carrying the Biden name.
White House staffers have allegedly been informed during strategy sessions that the President and First Lady acknowledge six, not seven, grandchildren – as stated by two sources privy to the conversations who spoke with the newspaper.
In a White House event titled “Take Your Child to Work Day” that took place in April, Biden mentioned the names of his six grandchildren.
He stated, “I have six grandchildren, and I’m crazy about them. And I speak to them every single day. Not a joke.”
Moreover, Biden has maintained the tradition of hanging Christmas stockings in the White House for six grandchildren, consistently omitting his seventh grandchild.
As President Biden gears up for the 2024 re-election campaign and amidst intensifying scrutiny of Hunter’s overseas business activities, the president appears to be showing more public support for his son, Hunter, and grandson, Beau. He has welcomed them at Camp David for two consecutive weekends.
The Justice Department disclosed last month that Hunter had agreed to a plea deal concerning two tax violations and a gun-related felony, which will likely avert imprisonment.
In response to the claims in the Times report suggesting that the Bidens are neglecting their granddaughter, right-wing Twitter users described the situation as “distressing” and “unfortunate.”
