They are not happy with her.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s former press secretary, Iulia Mendell, isn’t holding back regarding her deleterious opinions about Vice President Kamala Harris.

After the Vice President held a press conference with Polish President Andrzej Duda to address the Russian invasion of Ukraine that has just entered its third week, Mendel tweeted, “It would be a tragedy if this woman won the presidency.”

Mendel’s comments were posted in response to a video posted by another user, which showed Harris awkwardly laughing after a reporter asked about Ukrainian refugees.
In the video, Harris and Duda appear unsure who would answer the question, prompting Harris to laugh before saying, “A friend in need is a friend indeed.”

Duda decided to respond first.

The exchange caused critics to castigate Harris, accusing her of requiring help from Duda to answer the question and slamming her for laughing while millions of Ukrainians were suffering.

The awkward exchange comes as Harris is traveling to Eastern European countries, Poland and Romania, to reinforce the U.S. position to stand firm with NATO allies and to display U.S. support for the alliance’s eastern flank during Russia’s relentless aggression toward Ukraine.

Harris will continue her visit to Eastern Europe with a visit to Bucharest, Romania, on Friday. In Bucharest, the Vice President will participate in bilateral meetings with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis and Embassy Bucharest staff members.
