(TheIndependentStar.com) – In a scathing criticism, Lara Trump wasted no time exposing the Biden-Harris administration’s mishandling of Hurricane Helene recovery efforts in North Carolina.
The Republican presidential nominee’s daughter-in-law blasted the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)’s inadequate response.
Herself a North Carolina native, Lara painted a grim picture of the destruction Hurricane Helene caused and the fact that the federal government has abandoned affected communities.
During an interview on CNN, Lara revealed a shocking misallocation of funds that has left devastated Americans without crucial aid.
In a heated exchange with host Dana Bash, Lara highlighted the desperate situation her fellow North Carolinians are facing.
“People are desperate for help,” Lara declared, emphasizing the evident contrast between the administration’s promises and the reality on the ground.
She pointed out that local citizens have been forced to step in where FEMA has failed, questioning why government resources are not reaching those in need.
Lara’s criticism extended beyond the immediate disaster response, targeting the Biden-Harris administration’s financial priorities.
She revealed that FEMA has spent a staggering $1.4 billion on the migrant crisis since fall 2022, funds that could have been redirected to aid hurricane victims.
When she was told that these funds came from a separate allocation, Lara argued that said money could easily be redirected to help suffering Americans.
Hurricane Helene’s devastation has been widespread, killing over 225 people and leaving many still missing across Florida, Georgia and North Carolina.
Despite this, FEMA’s response has been inadequate, offering a mere $750 in upfront payments to storm victims.
Lara also took the opportunity to address the ongoing concerns about election integrity, a key focus of the Republican National Committee under her leadership.
The interview took place shortly after Lara joined her father-in-law at a recent rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
As the Biden-Harris administration scrambles to defend its lackluster response via memos filled with self-congratulatory statistics, the reality on the ground in North Carolina tells a different story.
