It’s no secret Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.) is a massive supporter of former President Donald Trump.

As more of her Republican colleagues appear to be abandoning the former President, Greene has cemented herself as a staunch ally. Now, former Trump-era White House strategist, Stephen Bannon, is suggesting Greene is doing this because she’s on the “short list” for Trump’s 2024 running mate.

Bannon made the assertion while talking to NBC News. He claimed that Greene “sees herself on the shortlist” of the former President’s 2024 Vice President candidates.

Bannon described Greene as being anything but a “shrinking violet,” adding she is “ambitious” and “not shy” of her perceptions that she would be a possible VP candidate for Trump.

But Bannon claimed Greene’s ambitions didn’t end with being Trump’s Vice President, saying that when the Georgia Republican “looks in the mirror, she sees a potential president smiling back.”

The NBC News report details how an unnamed source confirmed that Greene had her sights set on being Trump’s running mate in 2024.

Trump announced his 2024 campaign on November 15 but hasn’t been actively campaigning since then. Yet before November 15, 2022, while Trump’s announcement was still speculated, Greene endorsed the former President.

She then hinted in an Insider article about her intention to be Trump’s running mate, saying she would be “honored” to be Trump’s VP in his 2024 bid.

More recently, during the contentious vote to get House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (CA.) elected, Greene confirmed she had Trump on the phone, describing him as her “favorite President.”
