(TheIndependentStar.com) – President-elect Donald Trump has issued a huge alert: the Biden administration’s most recent fiasco is costing taxpayers millions and putting Americans at risk.
Trump pulled no punches when he said, “These people either hate our country or they’re stupid.”
In a fierce criticism, Trump revealed how the current administration is practically giving away crucial border wall materials at fire sale prices.
Adding insult to injury, the private companies buying these materials have approached Trump to have him potentially buy them back at inflated costs.
Speaking at Mar-a-Lago on January 7, 2025, Trump revealed the Biden administration’s decision to auction off unused border wall materials at deep discounts.
He labeled the move as “almost a criminal act,” emphasizing the severe financial implications for American taxpayers.
“You know what they were doing. They were calling us up and saying: ‘We’ll sell it back to you at 200 cents.’ In other words, double what we paid for it,” Trump explained.
“So, they were going to buy it from this guy [President Joe Biden] for five cents on the dollar. They were making deals,” he added.
Trump’s concerns are not unfounded. A U.S. Customs and Border Protection whistleblower revealed plans to liquidate all unused materials at three Arizona border stations by Christmas, raising alarms about the quick disposal of valuable assets.
The Biden administration began these auctions in 2023 after stopping most border wall construction in 2021.
Many have described the move as an evident effort to undermine Trump’s border security efforts.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sued the Biden administration, resulting in a court order halting the sale of these critical materials.
“Fortunately, we had a very smart judge that stopped it cold,” said Trump about the lawsuit’s outcome.
Trump’s call to action was clear and direct: “Please stop selling the wall.” This simple but powerful demand resonates with Americans who understand the critical role of border security.
It also highlights the contrast between Trump’s commitment to protecting American interests and the current administration’s willingness to compromise on these crucial issues.
