(TheIndependentStar.com) – Saturday Night Live (SNL) has crossed a dangerous line, as the ultra-liberal lamestream TV comedy show mocked the assassination attempts on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
The liberal show’s season premiere featured a skit that trivialized two recent attempts on Trump’s life, which shocked Americans and drew sharp criticism from the Trump campaign.
The Trump campaign swiftly condemned SNL’s tasteless attempt at humor in a powerful statement on X.
“There were two assassination attempts against President Trump within a span of seven weeks. @nbcsnl apparently finds that funny. Disgusting,” the campaign posted.
This latest attack by the mainstream media on the former president is not just offensive but a threat to democracy. By making light of violence against a political figure, SNL is normalizing dangerous behavior that could inspire copycats.
The skit in question featured actor James Austin Johnson portraying Trump, referencing a July 13 assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Moreover, SNL’s “Weekend Update” segment took the mockery even further.
Host Colin Jost made a series of tasteless jokes about the assassination attempts, even ridiculing former First Lady Melania Trump for rightfully pointing out the Democrats’ role in inciting violence against her husband.
Jost quipped that he was “starting to worry that bullet got a little more than just the ear,” after playing a clip of Trump saying he had a better “body” than Joe Biden at a recent rally.
Still, this is not the first time that SNL has attacked Trump. The show has a long history of biased portrayals, often featuring guest stars to mock the former president and his family.
In this latest episode, they brought in Maya Rudolph to play Kamala Harris and Dana Carvey as Joe Biden, further pushing their liberal agenda.
“Well, well, well, look who fell out of that coconut tree,” said Maya Rudolph tonight, kicking off the cold open of the Season 50 premiere of Saturday Night Live.
As the 2024 election approaches, it is crucial for conservative voters to recognize these blatant attempts to manipulate public opinion.
SNL and other liberal media outlets are not just pushing a political agenda but actively encouraging violence against conservative leaders.
