According to an appearance on “Life, Liberty, and Levin,” former President Donald Trump explained that he didn’t always consider the Clintons’ political traitors.

Speaking to host Mark Levin, Trump explained he used to have a cordial relationship with the 42nd president and his wife, often exchanging letters with Clinton.

Trump noted that Bill and Hillary Clinton were guests at his 2005 wedding to Melania Knauss, saying, “They came to my wedding.”

His wedding to his now-wife also includes another left-wing pundit Chris Matthews and several famous New Yorkers, including Tony Bennet, Billy Joel, former Republican Governor George Pataki and former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who later became Trump’s attorney.

Trump explained that Bill Clinton played regularly at Trump’s National Golf Club in Westchester, New York.

“He loved that course,” Trump said, adding, “He was there a lot,” with the former President suggesting he was “better [at golf] than people think.”

The former President recalled playing golf with Bill Clinton and then retiring to the clubhouse, where, Trump explained, the 42nd president would spend up to two and a half hours talking about politics.

“This is before I even thought about politics for myself,” Trump noted.

Trump also suggested that Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign made a grave mistake by not leveraging Bill Clinton’s retail politician persona and political acumen when she didn’t heed Bill’s advice to visit Michigan one last time before the election.

Bill Clinton explained he saw a prevalence of Trump-Pence signs when visiting Michigan and suggested Hillary visit the state once more.
