(TheIndependentStar.com) – Congress is currently trying to pass an infrastructure package, and things are really heating up. There are two bills: one is a bipartisan agreement, and the other is a Democrat-only proposal. Democrats want to use reconciliation to pass them, which would require a simple majority and not the usual supermajority that requires support from both sides.
Former President Donald Trump is urging Republican Senators to stand firm against the current plan. In a statement posted on Twitter by his spokeswoman Liz Harrington on Friday, July 9, he made it clear he wants to protect the tax cuts he put in place and warned about rolling them back.
Trump specifically addressed RINO (Republican in name only) Republicans when saying they should not work with the Left because they will get nothing in return. He declared they should stop all negotiations. He also referred to the “the ridiculous Green New Deal Marxist agenda” that he suspected the bills would end up paying for.
"Trump Calls on Senate GOP To Stop Negotiations on Infrastructure"

The former president’s remarks come after statements from Senator Mitch McConnell (R-WV), which indicated GOP members would fight the deal if Democrats try to push it through without Republican support. The Senator recognized Republican and moderate Democrat voters may find it “offensive” if the Left continues pushing forward to pass the plans without bipartisan support.
Is the former president right to urge Republicans not to continue working with Democrats on the infrastructure deals? Should he stand up for his tax cuts, or let those still in power make the decisions?
