On Friday (June 30), Chris Christie, a Republican presidential candidate, implied that he’s constantly on former President Donald Trump’s mind, as the former President shared a picture of Christie sleeping.
Taking to Truth Social, Trump posted an image of Christie sleeping, captioning it, “Resting after a good 25 minutes of work!”
Christie responded to the former President’s remarks by sharing Trump’s post on Twitter and requesting donations for his campaign.
Pointing to the Truth Social post, Christie tweeted, “Living rent free in Donald’s head,” using the opportunity to call for donations, telling his supporters, “Make me a permanent resident. Donate today.”
Earlier in June, the former governor of New Jersey, who was once an ally of Trump and ran against him in 2016, has consistently criticized the former President since announcing his candidacy for the 2024 Republican nomination.
In a recent interview published on Friday, Christie stated that Trump desires to be like Russian President Vladimir Putin in America and even wishes to be a dictator.
On Tuesday (June 27), Christie also called out Trump for being the “cheapest S.O.B. I’ve ever met in my life” as reports have surfaced that Trump used donated funds to cover his mounting legal expenses.
Then on Thursday, Christie vowed he would “shame” Trump into attending the first Republican Presidential primary debate after Trump suggested he may not appear at the August debate.
Christie is trailing Trump in all poling.
In a recent NBC News poll, 15 percent of Republican voters said they view Christie positively, while 42 percent shared a negative view.
Only 5 percent of Republican primary voters said Christie would be their first choice if the primary were held today.
