On Sunday former President Trump and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) got into an online argument after Christie predicted that Trump would not be able to win against President Biden in the 2024 presidential election.
Christie who in 2016 dropped his own presidential campaign in favor of endorsing Trump, has now become a vocal critic of the former President. During a segment on ABC News, where he is a top contributor, he said that he did not believe Trump would be able to be successful in his 2024 presidential campaign even if he won the nomination.
In response Trump took to Truth Social to attack Chris Christie, calling him “sloppy” and a failure. He added that at the time of leaving his office, Christie’s approval rates were at 9 percent and that his presidential campaign which he abandoned had also been going horribly.
Christie then took to Twitter to state that these latest comments by Trump were just another occasion of Trump having a “tantrum.” He then completely dismissed the attack from Trump.
Trump’s attack on Christie also pointed out that Trump himself had not agreed with the recommendations that Christie had made for his staff. However, in response to this Christie said that Trump had been the one to request his assistance for the general election debate and had been the one to offer him “3 different cabinet posts.” Christie noted that Trump’s newest lies did not affect him at all at this point.
