Trump Gets Yes From Judge

(TheIndependentStar.com) – After several months of public scrutiny, it was recently announced that former President Trump received permission from the judge overseeing his New York hush money trial to attend his son’s graduation ceremony next month.

After a delay in his ruling, Judge Juan Merchan’s decision to allow Trump to be at his youngest son Barron Trump’s high school graduation on May 17 has significant implications.

This decision, which comes under the backdrop of Trump’s New York hush money trial, has sparked a wave of reactions.

Trump’s frustration at the delay in the judge’s decision was palpable as he had expressed his eagerness to be present at his son’s graduation.

According to New York state law, Trump must be present for the entirety of his trial unless the judge grants him special permission.

“I was looking forward to that graduation with his mother and father there,” Trump told reporters. “It looks like the judge isn’t going to allow me to escape this scam. It’s a scam trial.”

In turn, several other Republicans and Trump supporters also condemned Merchan for the delay.

Eric Trump, another of Trump’s sons, criticized the judge earlier this month and stated that he was “heartless” for not allowing a father to attend his son’s graduation.

Moreover, Trump had requested time off from the trial for other occasions as well, but Merchan ruled that Trump could not attend the Supreme Court oral arguments for his presidential immunity case last week, emphasizing Trump’s obligation to attend his hush money trial over other legal proceedings.

While Trump remains engaged in the Manhattan courtroom for the trial, his legal team is handling his other legal matters.

The presumed GOP presidential candidate has criticized the hush money trial for limiting his campaign activities for the foreseeable future, alleging that it is politically motivated.
