While officially announcing his candidacy for the 2026 Ohio gubernatorial race, Ramaswamy positioned himself as the fresh face of conservative leadership the state needs.
“America is back, and it feels fantastic,” the candidate stated while revealing his platform, which reads like a conservative dream: slashing taxes, protecting gun rights, and promoting family values, all while promising to turn Ohio into an economic powerhouse.
“We require a leader here at home who will revive our conviction in Ohio,” Ramaswamy declared. “That is why today, I am honored to announce that I am running to be the next Governor of a great state at the heart of the greatest nation known to mankind.”
Ramaswamy’s vision for Ohio is unapologetically conservative. He plans to eliminate income tax, reduce property taxes, and empower police to crack down on crime.
The Second Amendment will be fiercely protected, and work requirements for Medicaid and welfare will be implemented to promote self-reliance and reduce government dependency.
Education is a key focus of Ramaswamy’s campaign. To improve educational outcomes, he advocates for universal school choice, merit-based teacher pay, and a ban on cell phones in schools.
He also proposes a civics test for high school graduation to boost American pride and knowledge.
“There are conservative solutions and approaches that have not yet been tried in any of the other 50 states. I want Ohio to set the standard,” Ramaswamy stated.
