During a ReAwaken America rally, former President Donald Trump promised that he would work for Michael Flynn, a former White House national security adviser and retired Army general, to return.
Flynn was originally pardoned by Trump during his last few weeks in office, following a yearslong prosecution following the Russia investigation. During the investigation, Flynn had to plead guilty on two occasions for lying to the FBI, before backtracking his position. Following his exit from the White House he launched the ReAwaken America tour only months after the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol attack.
The ReAwaken tour makes multiple stops across the country to host events and conferences that include many controversial conspiracy theorists, pro-Trump speakers, and others. According to NPR the events hosted by the tour were to an extent conservative Christian revival, to an extent QAnon expo, and finally in some ways a political rally. Its latest version brought the tour to Miami for a three-day conference, from Thursday to Saturday evening.
Trump, who is the frontrunner in the 2024 GOP presidential nomination race, had to cancel his scheduled rally in Iowa following the tornado watch warnings.
Lawyer Ron Filipkowski, posted a video on Twitter in which Trump informs Flynn that he was going to be part of his next administration if he won the White House. Trump’s remarks were met by cheers in the crowd. Following the posting of the video, Flynn also posted regarding the announcement that his wife was “going crazy.”
This news was also reported on Rollin Stone, where it was mentioned that if he won he wanted both Flynn and Jeffrey Clark in his administration.
