(TheIndependentStar.com) – In a courtroom verdict that resonates deeply with those weary of escalating violence, a Las Vegas judge sentenced a Texas resident to 100 years in prison for a Thanksgiving 2020 shooting spree.

Christopher McDonnell, the perpetrator of this heinous crime, received his sentence from Clark County District Judge Tierra Jones for his role in a two-state rampage that occurred on Thanksgiving 2020.

The violent spree resulted in the death of an innocent man in Nevada. It culminated in a shootout with law enforcement in Arizona.

The 11-hour rampage began on November 26, 2020, with random shootings that claimed the life of Kevin Mendiola Jr. at a convenience store in Henderson, Nevada.

McDonnell, along with his brother Shawn McDonnell and Shawn’s then-wife Kayleigh Lewis, continued their path of destruction into Arizona, where they engaged in further shootings, including an attack on a police officer.

The trio’s reign of terror finally came to an end near Parker, Arizona, after a police chase resulted in their vehicle rolling over.

It was revealed that Lewis drove the vehicle while the McDonnell brothers fired indiscriminately, showing a complete disregard for public safety and the lives of innocent Americans.

While the criminal will spend the next century behind bars, with parole eligibility only in 2120, his accomplices Shawn McDonnell and Kayleigh Lewis are still awaiting trial.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, prosecutors revealed that McDonnell was charged with being a felon illegally in possession of a firearm.

This fact highlights the critical importance of strict enforcement of existing gun laws to keep weapons out of the hands of dangerous criminals rather than imposing new restrictions on law-abiding gun owners.

McDonnell pleaded guilty to over 20 felonies, including murder, attempted murder, and weapon charges.
