(TheIndependentStar.com) – Showing the constant danger President Donald Trump is in, an armed suspect alarmingly approached the White House perimeter.

Fortunately, U.S. Secret Service agents shot the man, demonstrating their readiness to protect one of the nation’s landmarks.

Watch the video down below.

The potentially dangerous 27-year-old Indiana man pulled a firearm when officers confronted him.

However, the against showed their preparedness when they swiftly took the suspect down.

Secret Service personnel opened fire after locating the suspect near the intersection of 17th and F Streets NW in Washington, D.C.

The confrontation unfolded after police received alerts about a “suicidal individual” possibly traveling to the nation’s capital from Indiana.

Agents mobilized quickly, first locating the individual’s vehicle and then spotting a person nearby matching the description.

“As officers approached, the individual brandished a firearm, and an armed confrontation ensued, during which shots were fired by our personnel,” the Secret Service stated in their official account of the incident.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was transported to a hospital with his condition currently listed as “unknown.”

This incident comes at a time of increased scrutiny on the Secret Service following the July assassination attempt against President Donald Trump.

During a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, then-candidate Trump was wounded in the ear by a would-be assassin.

A subsequent review identified alarming communication gaps and lack of diligence as factors in that near-miss, raising serious concerns about security protocols at the highest levels of government.

This time, no Secret Service personnel were injured. The incident will now be investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department as is standard procedure for law enforcement shootings.

President Trump was safely at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida at the time of the incident, far from any potential danger.

This is not the first time armed individuals have threatened the White House perimeter.

Similar incidents occurred in 2016 when security officers shot an armed man. Just last year, a 20-year-old Indian individual attempted to breach White House barriers with a rented truck.

The pattern of threats against government buildings continues even as the mainstream media pays little attention to the ongoing security challenges law enforcement agencies face.

The Metropolitan Police Department has remained tight-lipped about additional details surrounding the incident.

Their silence has fueled questions about whether this was an isolated threat or possibly connected to broader security concerns in the capital.
