President Donald Trump has scored a massive win against wokeism after the Supreme Court sided with him in a bombshell ruling.
In a stunning 5-4 decision, the highest court in the land has allowed the Trump administration to block $65 million in funding for programs that promote divisive diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) ideologies in America’s classrooms.
The Supreme Court’s conservative majority handed President Trump his first significant legal win of his second term by allowing his administration to terminate Education Department grants that push DEI training for teachers.
The ruling overturns a Massachusetts judge’s decision that had forced taxpayers to continue funding these controversial programs despite the administration’s objections.
The blocked funding amounts to $65 million in grants awarded under the Teacher Quality Partnership and Supporting Effective Educator Development programs.
The Department of Education had determined these programs violated President Trump’s executive order to eliminate DEI programs from federal funding, but liberal states sued to keep the money flowing.
Despite claims from the eight Democrat-controlled states leading the lawsuit, the Supreme Court’s majority recognized that these states have “the financial wherewithal to keep their programs running” without federal funding.
The Court’s opinion clearly stated that “if respondents ultimately prevail, they can recover any wrongfully withheld funds through suit in an appropriate forum.”
The Court’s decision was divided along ideological lines. Five conservative justices formed the majority, and Chief Justice John Roberts joined the three liberal justices in dissent.
Liberal Justice Elena Kagan’s dissent revealed just how dependent these states have become on federal funding to push their agenda.
She complained that “the states have consistently represented that the loss of these grants will force them — indeed, has already forced them — to curtail teacher training programs.”
The case represents a significant win for the Trump administration’s broader efforts to dismantle the left’s diversity, equity, and inclusion apparatus that has infiltrated every level of government.
The programs in question total over $600 million, focusing on what they claim is training teachers for math, science, and special education.
However, the administration has identified the initiatives as vehicles for radical ideological indoctrination.
The ruling suggests the Supreme Court may side with President Trump in similar lawsuits regarding federal grants and programs that push woke ideology.
Supporters of the decision argue that it marks an important first step in returning the educational system to focusing on academic excellence rather than leftist social engineering.
