(TheIndependentStar.com) – Parents around the country are speaking out against the introduction of critical race theory (CRT) in the classroom, but there may be a new fight on the horizon. The next attempt to integrate left-wing values into schooling could have arrived in the form of sexual education.
The Austin Independent School District in Texas introduced an updated version of its Human Sexuality and Responsibility curriculum on April 13, 2021. Approved for grades 3-5 and 6-8, the materials and lesson plans come from the National Sex Education Standards set out by the Future of Sex Education Initiative, which is a partnership between the progressive organizations Advocates for Youth and SIECUS: Sex Ed for Social Change.
The sexual education program blends traditional topics, such as anatomy and puberty, with left-leaning ideas. Lessons teach children about topics like oral sex, abortion, the difference between gender identity and biological sex, and sexual orientation.
No matter how busy, we must attend all school board meetings and change this indoctrination ASAP!

The curriculum has been under fire since its introduction in 2019 when the school board approved its use in the district. David Walls, the vice president of Texas Values, called it “radical ideology” and stated it was not in alignment with the values of the district’s families, specifically with regard to its promotion of ideas about gender identity and sexual orientation.
The Texas Freedom Network supported the programs. Organization member Julia Mandel stated the inclusive nature of the lessons is much needed in today’s environment.
Sexual education has always been a controversial subject, but this new approach is in direct conflict with conservative values. Should a school teach politicized concepts, such as gender identity?
