They aren’t happy.

In the latest media assassination of Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va), which followed his announcement that he wouldn’t be supporting President Biden’s Build Back Better Act, the Senator has been branded “part of the problem” by representing “plutocrats” and resurrecting racist myths.

In remarks made by panelists on ABC News’ “This Week,” Terry Moran said Manchin abandoned his state’s voters by expressing his concern for authorizing a nearly two-trillion dollar bill that Manchin believed would trigger inflation. Moran went on to say that since The Democrat Senator made this decision, he was representing plutocrats rather than one of the poorest states in the Union, before ending his statements by saying, “Look, Manchin is just a part of the problem.”

Moran’s lashing echoes sentiments expressed by other Democrat leaders that attacked the three-term West Virginia Senator. Many of his critics chose to lambast his seemingly ‘racist’ decision to reject the bill. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) shared an image of herself staring at Manchin, whereas Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) said Manchin was a “white man” who did not care about “black people,” and a long list of minorities which included Latinos, immigrants, women, and the poor.

However, it appears that Manchin’s move to oppose the Build Back Better Act is rooted in the sentiment of voters in his state, Data shows that 53% of West Virginia voters –– which includes 59% of registered independents

Recent data shows the notion that Manchin isn’t serving his state because he voiced opposition to the BBB plan would be wrong.

According to Remington Research Group, about 53% of West Virginia voters –– which included 59% of registered independents –– strongly oppose the Build Back Better Act, with two-thirds of the state’s voters saying they believe BBB would worsen inflation.
