Rally Member Arrested for Attacking Cop

(TheIndependentStar.com) – Left-wing group Antifa claims it fights racism and fascism. Yet, it’s militia-like approach often draws negative attention. Liberals often give them a pass on bad behavior, too — but it does sometimes catch up with them.

On August 10 in Salem, Oregon, one group member ended up behind bars after allegedly attacking a police officer. Clifford Phillip Eiffler-Rodriguez refused to comply with orders to disperse after a violent altercation, The incident took place during otherwise peaceful protests just outside a Planned Parenthood location.

A local church group initially set up a protest just outside the facility; Antifa showed up to oppose their efforts. Both sides were relatively respectful, despite the fact that the liberal group’s members wore military style equipment, such as gas masks.

Members of both organizations were armed.

The protest lasted for only a handful of hours before both sides began to leave. That’s when an outburst led to an altercation. Participants began throwing fireworks and chemical agents at each other.

The Salem Police Department Mobile Response Team tried to break the disorderly conduct up, encouraging them to stop. But Eiffler-Rodriguez shoved an officer. He was immediately arrested for disorderly conduct, harassment, and interfering with a police officer.

The sole individual was the only person arrested in the incident. Salem’s PD intends to follow up and ask for the public to report any others involved in criminal activities.
