During the fervent antisemitic demonstration outside the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago, leftist activists vociferously chanted slogans such as “Piggy piggy go back home” and “Pigs go home,” Breitbart News reports.
The protest was markedly animated, and at one point, a protester stumbled over a curb but quickly regained composure, directing a confrontational gesture toward a police officer mounted on a bicycle.
Amidst the tumult, several other officers were observed attempting to navigate the periphery of the road, moving obstacles like trash cans aside, as the assembled crowd expressed their displeasure through continuous chants directed at the police presence.
In the thick of the protest, another round of the chant, “Piggy, piggy, go back home,” echoed through the air, particularly as a black police officer found himself surrounded by the chanting protesters.
This demonstration was not an isolated event but rather part of a broader initiative aimed at disseminating a pro-Palestine message in the city hosting the DNC’s convention, the report observes.
A significant moment of tension arose when a protester shouted in anguish, “150,000 people are dead,” criticizing the attendees of the DNC’s welcome party for perpetuating what she described as a genocide.
She vehemently accused the current US administration, referring to it as the Harris-Biden administration, of continuing to finance these alleged atrocities.
Meanwhile, Hatem Abudayyeh, a spokesperson for the pro-Palestinian coalition, articulated to the media the scale of the planned protests.
Abudayyeh revealed that an expansive coalition comprising “almost 270 organizations from across the US” had come together to march on the DNC.
“Tens of thousands [of people] will be out on the streets starting tomorrow, August 19 at noon, right here at Union Park to say, ‘Stop the genocide now, end US aid to Israel and free Palestine,’” he stated.
Abudayyeh further stressed the coalition’s commitment to their cause, declaring their intent to rally for their rights up until the official start of the march at 2 p.m. from Union Park.
Adding to the visual and rhetorical impact of the protest, demonstrators were also observed brandishing a banner with the provocative inscription “Killer Kamala” as they paraded through the streets, symbolizing their stark opposition to the policies endorsed by Vice President Kamala Harris regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
