Popular News Host Says GOP May “Seize” Election in Smash Grab Win After Crime Spike

Popular News Host Says GOP May

(TheIndependentStar.com) – Surges in violent crime rates across the nation are giving Republicans something to campaign on for the 2022 midterm elections. After left-leaning support for the “Defund the Police” movement, conservatives are pointing out how rises in violent crime are most prevalent in Democrat-run cities.

This is not sitting well with liberal commentators, including Stephanie Ruhle of MSNBC, who talked about its damaging potential on her Tuesday, July 13 show. The host spoke about how this could lead to a red wave in 2022, stating Democrats face an “uphill battle” to avoid losing votes.

She spoke with Rachel Bitecofer, a political scientist, about the potential for Republicans to gain a lot of ground with this strategy. Bitecofer correctly predicted the blue wave of 2018 and says she sees a red wave in the next election unless Democrats find a way to defuse the situation.

Democrats are particularly worried because of their thin margins in Congress. Plus, several red states gained seats from the 2020 Census results. Compounding the dire situation for liberals is the tendency for the sitting president’s party to perform poorly in midterms.

Democrats have a number of challenges to contend with as we approach next November. Conservatives are in a good position right now, but it is still over a year out from the election. Republicans need to do their best to capitalize on Democratic mistakes.
