An antisemitism watchdog called out Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) for comments the New York Democrat made about American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), a lobby group that promotes America-Israel relations.

AIPAC has, according to a Federal Election Commission filing, spent $78,683 on direct mailers opposing Democratic House candidate Summer Lee in Pennsylvania’s 12th Congressional district and supporting Republican candidate Mike Doyle.
Doyle and Lee are looking to attain the seat of retiring Democrat Mike Doyle.

In response to a tweet highlighting AIPAC’s spending that wades into a Democrat/Republican race, Ocasio-Cortez tweeted on Monday (October 30), “Shamefully, AIPAC is working for Republican control of Congress and further destabilization of US democracy.”

Her tweet has since been criticized by the executive director of StopAntisemitism.org, Liora Rez, according to reporting by Fox News Digital.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Rez said, “The thinly veiled intent behind AOC’s tweet to vilify a Jewish organization is crystal clear and further contributes to the vilification of American Jews.”

Rez also pointed out how Ocasio-Cortez wasn’t as outspoken against those on the left and bipartisan groups who were also attempting to keep Summer Lee out of office.

Rez stated, “AOC’s intentional isolation of AIPAC and her failure to call out the numerous bipartisan and left-leaning groups working to keep Justice Democrat candidate Summer Lee out of office shows her true colors.”

It wasn’t just the New York Democrat who shared views about AIPAC being aligned with Republicans, “Seems like AIPAC & the GOP have the same agenda,” tweeted Justice Democrats spokesperson Usamah Andrabi.

AIPAC has described itself as bipartisan but opposes candidates who could be a detriment to the U.S-Israel alliance.
