In a decision that has MAGA supporters cheering, the Trump administration is taking decisive action against illegal immigration with a plan to fine illegals $998 daily for defying deportation orders.

Based on a 1996 law, this enforcement mechanism could lead to property seizures for those who refuse to pay and potentially hit lawbreakers with penalties exceeding $1 million when applied retroactively.

Under the new policy, illegals who have been ordered to leave the US but remain illegally would face substantial financial consequences.

President Trump is reinstating and strengthening enforcement measures that were first implemented during his previous term but abandoned by former President Biden in 2021.

Trump’s spokeswoman, Tricia McLaughlin, confirmed the administration’s stance, emphasizing that aliens who ignore deportation orders will face severe repercussions.

“If they don’t, they will face the consequences,” McLaughlin said. “This includes a fine of $998 per day for every day that the illegal alien overstayed their final deportation order.”

The policy targets approximately 1.4 million illegals who have already received removal orders from immigration judges but have remained in the country illegally.

By enforcing existing laws with financial penalties, the administration aims to encourage self-deportation and reduce the enormous backlog in the immigration system.

Illegals are being encouraged to use a mobile application called CBP Home to facilitate their voluntary departure.

Moreover, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is preparing to implement this policy with various federal agencies involved in enforcement.

If migrants refuse to pay the accrued fines, the government is considering seizing and selling their assets—an initiative that would significantly escalate the consequences of non-compliance.

This approach is particularly potent because penalties could be applied retroactively for up to five years.

While critics like Scott Shuchart claim, “It’s to project fear in communities,” supporters of the policy point out that it simply enforces decades-old laws.

The past administration’s lax border policies created the current crisis by halting these enforcement mechanisms in 2021.

By contrast, the Trump administration is demonstrating a commitment to enforcing immigration laws that Congress enacted nearly three decades ago.

These enforcement actions represent a comprehensive approach to restoring order at the border and throughout America’s immigration system.

For American citizens and true patriots concerned about the impacts of unchecked illegal immigration on their communities, schools, and healthcare systems, these initiatives signal that the rule of law is being restored.

While implementation may require additional resources, including potentially hiring 1,000 new paralegal specialists, the administration appears determined to follow through on campaign promises to address the immigration crisis plaguing American communities nationwide.
