(TheIndependentStar.com) – Marking a massive victory for President-elect Donald Trump and MAGA supporters, FBI Director Christopher Wray has resigned.
Wray, appointed by Trump in 2017, will step down in January, paving the way for Trump’s pick, Kash Patel.
This shake-up promises to address long-standing concerns about the FBI’s political bias.
Wray announced his decision to resign during an FBI town hall in Washington, D.C., citing a desire to avoid further political issues for the bureau.
His exit comes after “weeks of careful thought” and with the end of Joe Biden’s term, signaling a clean break from the current administration’s influence.
President-elect Trump has been vocal about his discontent with Wray, particularly following the FBI’s controversial search of Mar-a-Lago for classified documents. “I can’t say I’m thrilled with him. He invaded my home,” Trump said.

To do so, he implemented over 40 corrective actions to improve the bureau’s warrant application process.

By nominating Kash Patel as the new FBI director, Trump was to root out the evident bias within the bureau.
Patel, known for his loyalty to Trump and his efforts to challenge the Russia investigation narrative, contrasts with Wray’s more establishment approach.
The incoming Trump administration has given Wray the option to leave voluntarily or be fired, underscoring the urgency of this leadership change.
As Wray prepares to step down, Deputy Director Paul Abbate will temporarily take the helm as acting director until Patel’s confirmation.
This transition period will be crucial in setting the tone for the FBI’s future direction and its commitment to upholding the rule of law.
