(TheIndependentStar.com) – After the Republican victory in the Virginia gubernatorial race and the close New Jersey election, political commentators and insiders see a lousy time ahead for the Democrats. The results from the election on November 2 seem to show that Americans, even those in deep-blue states, are not happy with the direction in which the Left is taking the country.
Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich (R) said on November 3, just a day after the surprising results in Virginia, that the country should be ready for a red wave in the 2022 midterms. Gingrich has personal experience with flipping the country’s leadership, as he led the GOP in taking back the federal government from Democrats 25 years ago.

The former speaker said the outcome of this election shows the Left has gone too far with its agenda, and people are not accepting it. He remarked that the Biden administration is weak and won’t dare stray from the party’s plan, despite it crashing and burning.
On the John Solomon Reports podcast, Gingrich called Vice President Kamala Harris “dumb” and said the president lacked “mental energy” when discussing whether they could save the Democrats from the potential Republican takeover in the 2022 midterm elections.
The former speaker also offered his 2022 predictions. He thinks the GOP will gain 4 seats in the Senate and between 40 and 70 seats in the House. He called it a “tsunami” and warned the Left that it is coming.
