(TheIndependentStar.com) – Testimony of the top US military leaders in the Senate brought about a firestorm of accusations against President Joe Biden. His failure to properly execute the withdrawal from Afghanistan became the main talking point.
On September 29, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) called the president a liar who supplied the enemy with everything they desired. The Republican referred to Biden’s statement that he never received advice to keep some troops in Afghanistan. During the hearings, generals stated they gave him that exact advice.

He went on to say the generals did their best to provide the highest level of military advice, and Joe Biden ignored it all.
In a Twitter post, McConnell had said the president knew what would happen if the US removed all troops from the country, but he chose to ignore that reality. The minority leader went on to say the US left people behind and it was all due to Biden’s poor decisions.
The consequences of the Biden Administration’s hasty retreat from Afghanistan were not just foreseeable. They were foreseen. And yet on this President’s watch, we left Americans and vulnerable Afghans behind.

McConnell also warned that the US has little means to combat the growing threat of terrorism from the region. Our country is in a vulnerable position because of the president’s actions.
The White House Press Secretary, Jen Psaki, is trying to spin the situation by saying there was division in the advice given to the president, and that he received a variety of options for how to handle the exit.
