In a stunning development, McDonald’s is finally bringing back a staple of American fast food after bowing to consumer demand.
Yanked from menus in 2016, the beloved Snack Wrap will make a triumphant return in 2025, after years of people demanding that the chain bring it back.
The fast-food giant confirmed the highly anticipated comeback through a cryptic social media post showing “0x.14.2025” as the return date.
While the exact month remains unspecified, McDonald’s USA President Joe Erlinger removed all doubt about the wrap’s return in a recent interview.
“The Snack Wrap will be back in 2025. This has a cult following. I get so many emails into my inbox about this product. It will be back in 2025,” Erlinger stated, acknowledging the overwhelming demand from loyal customers.
For those who may have forgotten, the Snack Wrap first graced McDonald’s menu boards across America in 2006.
It offered a perfect on-the-go option combining chicken, cheese, lettuce, and sauce wrapped in a tortilla.
After a decade of success, the chain inexplicably discontinued the item in 2016, leaving many customers bewildered and frustrated.
McDonald’s CEO Christopher Kempczinski revealed the company has ambitious plans for its chicken offerings.
“This year, there is incredible energy for the return of Snack Wraps in the U.S., along with a few other markets,” Kempczinski said during an earnings call.

The return of this fan favorite comes at a critical time for the chain. McDonald’s reported a 1.4% drop in U.S. sales during the fourth quarter, partly due to an E. coli outbreak linked to onions.
The company appears to be banking on nostalgic menu items and value options to win back customers who have grown tired of constantly rising prices across the fast food industry.
McDonald’s executives are playing their cards close to the vest regarding specific details.
When pressed for more information, Kempczinski admitted his marketing team “would kill me if I gave any more details about the when and the exact specifics of how we’re going to plan on doing that, but certainly expect that to come online later in the year.”
The return of the Snack Wrap is part of a broader strategy that includes the introduction of a new chicken strip offering and limited-time promotions like the Chicken Big Mac.
McDonald’s has publicly stated that it is “excited about the significant opportunity we see within our chicken portfolio and see the potential to add another point of chicken market share by the end of 2026,” according to Kempczinski.
The chain is also maintaining its $5 Meal Deal to appeal to budget-conscious consumers who have been hit hard by Bidenflation.
Despite economic challenges, the company reported that its shares have risen nearly 7% this year.
The surge suggests that returning to customer favorites and value pricing might be a winning strategy in today’s economic climate.
With over 13,500 locations in the United States and nearly 43,500 worldwide, McDonald’s decision to bring back the Snack Wrap demonstrates that even massive corporations must eventually listen to their customer base.
