Here’s what happened…
As you may have already heard, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio recently issued new vaccine mandates for his city and people were speechless. Mayor de Blasio issued a mandate which forced private business to vaccinate all of their employees and children aged five and older needed to be vaccinated if they want to eat at restaurants.
People were speechless when these mandates were issued by de Blasio and now a number of people including Republican Rep. Lee Zeldin has called out the radical decision.
According to the Washington Examiner, Rep. Zeldin unloaded on de Blasio and called him the worst mayor in America. He then referred to him as an anti-business, one-dimensional, unaccountable, and not bright mayor for the City of New York.
What’s interesting is that de Blasio issued these mandates to go into effect on Dec. 27 which is just four days before he is expected to leave office. When issuing the mandate de Blasio raised eyebrows after referring to is as a “preemptive strike” to defeat the omicron variant before it spread even further.
Rep. Zeldin then called out de Blasio for issuing a mandate against children. Zeldin accused de Blasio of being on a power trip and said these mandates were more about de Blasio’s ego rather than science.
Republican Rep. Nicole Malliotakis also called out de Blasio for his radical new mandate and stated, “Mayor de Blasio can’t leave fast enough. He has crushed small business, the economy & quality of life. How many more New Yorkers does he want to see move to the free state of Florida? I’m hopeful the incoming mayor will roll back these arbitrary mandates.”
