(TheIndependentStar.com) – The Trump administration has launched a decisive mission against the Houthi pirate terrorists in Yemen, aiming to secure the Red Sea shipping lanes from further attacks.
The decisive airstrikes targeted multiple Houthi leaders and military installations in their strongholds of Sanaa and Saada.
Trump warned Iran that “HELL WILL RAIN DOWN” if their proxies continue attacking American vessels and allies in the region.
The commander-in-chief ordered the powerful wave of strikes over the weekend after months of escalating Houthi attacks on international shipping lanes in the Red Sea.
Since November 2023, the terrorist group has attacked over 100 merchant vessels, sinking two ships and seizing another while forcing major shipping companies to reroute around Africa at tremendous cost to global commerce.
“Funded by Iran, the Houthi thugs have fired missiles at US aircraft, and targeted our Troops and Allies,” Trump declared.
The USS Harry S. Truman carrier strike group participated in the mission, delivering precision strikes against multiple targets.
The operation marks Trump’s first direct military action against the Houthis during his second administration, demonstrating his commitment to protecting American interests abroad and maintaining freedom of navigation in critical waterways.
Trump said in a social media post, “No terrorist force will stop American commercial and naval vessels from freely sailing the Waterways of the World.”
The Houthi terrorists, who illegally seized control of Yemen’s capital and northwestern regions, claim they are targeting vessels linked to Israel, the US, or the UK in support of Palestinians.
Yet, their indiscriminate attacks have disrupted global shipping lanes, affecting everyday Americans through increased costs and supply chain disruptions.
Trump’s national security team confirmed the operation successfully eliminated multiple high-value Houthi leaders.
“This was an overwhelming response that actually targeted multiple Houthi leaders and took them out,” National Security Adviser Michael Waltz claimed.
While some global leaders called for “political dialogue,” Trump’s decisive action demonstrated his America-first approach to protecting vital national interests.
Unlike previous administrations that allowed adversaries to test American resolve without consequences, Trump’s rapid and overwhelming response sends a clear message to Iran and its proxies about the cost of threatening American lives and commerce.
The airstrikes come as the administration has also offered Iran an opportunity for diplomatic engagement regarding its nuclear program, demonstrating Trump’s balanced approach of strength through military deterrence.
