Former President Donald Trump supporters who are going to be attending his rally in the Erie Insurance Arena at 6 p.m. ET in western Pennsylvania declared Trump a “king” and spoke highly of his Christian values.
In 2016 his stop in Erie had been an integral part of helping him win the primary race at the time. With the hope that he will win the presidential race in 2024, this campaign stop is meant to help attract thousands of Trump’s supporters in one area and is only one of many such events that are scheduled to take place across the U.S.
Trump is currently the frontrunner in the 2024 Republican presidential primary race and has managed to maintain a lead of more than 20 percentage points according to most GOP primary polls. Still, the mounting legal troubles against Trump could potentially affect his standing in the race.
On Thursday, new charges against Trump were filed in connection to the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case. He is also suspected to face another indictment in connection to the federal investigation into his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack and his attempts to overturn the presidential election. Despite the charges against him though, Trump has maintained that he is not guilty in all of the cases.
Prior to the rally many of the attendees started to express their support for the former President by posting videos from conservative news outlet Right Side Broadcasting Network (RSBN) interviews on Twitter.
In one of the videos, an attendant is wearing a shirt that refers to Trump as “The Great MAGA King,” while also saying that they needed to support the “king.” She further added that “King Trump” was second after “King Jesus.”
