The Democrats are becoming more extreme.

On Monday (May 22), releasing her image for a more progressive New York State Assembly, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has endorsed a suite of far-left candidates.

AOC endorsed nine candidates put forward by a New York political organization, Working Families Party, which states it is devoted to “social, racial, and economic justice.”

Most of the candidates will be attempting to unseat moderate Democrats in the overwhelmingly Democratic assembly.

In a statement revealing why she was endorsing the candidates, Ocasio-Cortez stated, “We can’t wait for guaranteed healthcare. We can’t wait for affordable housing. We can’t wait for climate justice. That’s why I’m proud to endorse and support the ‘We Can’t Wait’ Assembly candidates.”

Ocasio-Cortez also stated, “I can’t wait to partner with them once they’re elected to make sure New York is a place where everyone can live with dignity.”

The WFP also called for its candidates to “transform” the Assembly and kick out Democrats who’ve worked with Republicans.

In a statement, New York Working Families Party senior director Kumar Rao wrote, “Four years ago, our party defeated members of the Independent Democratic Conference, a group of turncoat Democrats who caucused with Republicans and blocked the priorities of working families. Since then, we’ve won historic victories by strengthening voting rights, passing new taxes on the rich, and fully funding our public schools.”

He then stated the group would turn its attention to the Assembly, stating, “Now, we must transform the other legislative body, the New York State Assembly.”
