Lib City Revoking Sanctuary Status?!

(TheIndependentStar.com) – In a development showing leftists can come to their senses but in complete violation of their alleged principles, New York’s Democrat Mayor Eric Adams has suggested that his city should change its “sanctuary” status as he admitted that it was being plagued by illegal immigrant crime.

Adams suggested that it might be necessary to reconsider the city’s sanctuary policies to allow for better cooperation with federal immigration authorities, specifically for the deportation of violent offenders.

“We should not be allowing people who are repeatedly committing crimes to remain here and we cannot collaborate with ICE in the process,” Adams stated, as cited by The Daily Wire.

“Those who are committing crimes, we need to modify the sanctuary city law. If you commit a felony, a violent act, we should be able to turn you over to ICE and have you deported,” he emphasized.

These comments followed an incident where a group of violent illegal immigrants attacked two officers from the New York City Police Department.

Despite the severity of the assault, the attackers were released due to the city’s sanctuary policies, a decision that led them to taunt journalists upon their release.

The aliens then attempted to escape to California but were apprehended by federal agents in Arizona.

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell criticized the decision by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office to release the assailants after the attack.

“I would have assumed that they wouldn’t let illegal immigrants who attack police go, but they did,” Mitchell remarked.

Mayor Adams’ call for policy change is set against the backdrop of a nationwide uptick in crimes committed by undocumented immigrants, a trend that has become increasingly prominent under the administration of President Joe Biden, The Wire points out.

During Biden’s tenure, over 7.2 million illegal immigrants have entered the United States, a figure surpassing the population of 36 states.

This influx, attributed to Biden’s immigration policies, has elevated the issue of border security to the forefront of voter concerns as the general election approaches, pitting Biden against former President Donald Trump.

Reports from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection highlight a significant rise in encounters with criminal undocumented immigrants at the border.
