(TheIndependentStar.com) – Hiding behind controlled settings, Democrat nominee Kamala Harris refused a third debate after GOP presidential nominee former President Donald Trump suggested a trio of matchups.
See the tweet further down this post.
Harris had previously dodged answering on August 8th if she would accept Trump’s three debate challenges.
So far, she has only committed to two events, as confirmed by a statement from her campaign.
Harris agreed to debate Trump on September 10th on NBC News and once more in October.
Meanwhile, Trump had proposed three debates: September 4th on Fox News, September 10th on NBC News, and September 25th on ABC News.
After debating Trump, Joe Biden, then the likely Democratic nominee, eventually bowed out of the race due to mounting pressure from within his party.
Harris also mentioned she would only permit her recent nominee as running mate for vice-president, Governor Tim Walz, to attend one debate with GOP vice-presidential candidate Senator JD Vance, who had proposed two meetings.
However, Walz has admitted he is not the best debater.
After Harris’s campaign made its decision public, the GOP candidate posted on his Truth Social platform, “Comrade Kamala Harris has just informed us that she will NOT do the FoxNews Debate on September 4th.”
He stated he was not surprised by this development because he felt that Harris knew it was very difficult, at best, for her to defend her record-setting Flip-Flopping on absolutely everything she once believed in.
The former president said earlier this month that he agreed to do three debates against Harris. “So we have those three dates and those networks, they’re very anxiously awaiting that date and those dates,” Trump previously told reporters in Mar-a-Lago.
Harris has reportedly formally agreed to the ABC event. She previously seemed to hesitate to accept the Fox News debate and appeared open to the one on NBC News.
