(TheIndependentStar.com) – Kamala Harris, Joe Biden’s “point person” on the Southern Border, has been exposed further as an abject failure in that capacity as fresh figures show a new surge in the nation’s devastating invasion by Third World illegal aliens.
Since Biden designated her as being in charge of the US-Mexican border influx, Harris and her boss have seen over 7 million migrants invade the United States, many of them gotaways.
Illegal immigration at the U.S.-Mexico border significantly increased in September, setting a new monthly record based on data acquired by The Daily Caller.
There were almost 219,000 encounters reported by the Border Patrol at the southern border, the highest number for the month since records began in 2000.
This takes the total encounters for fiscal year 2023 to over 2 million. The previous record for September was set in 2022 with almost 208,000.
“It is the policy of CBP to neither confirm nor speak to potentially improperly disclosed information or internal documents marked as law enforcement sensitive or for official use only,” said a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) spokesperson.
The CBP pointed to a statement from Troy A. Miller, a senior official at CBP, who commented on an earlier surge in August with 181,000 encounters.
Miller expressed concern over traffickers and criminal organizations taking advantage of vulnerable migrants.
“Our operational tempo along the border has increased in response to increased encounters, and we remain squarely focused on our broader security mission and enforcing U.S. immigration laws,” he said.
In light of the surge in illegal immigration, the Biden administration announced the construction of additional border walls in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas in early October.
In Eagle Pass, Texas, there was another notable incident where Border Patrol was asked to remove concertina wire set up by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott as a deterrent.
This area, in particular, saw a significant number of migrants, mainly from Venezuela, in September.
“What is happening right here is completely against our own immigration laws, against our own constitution and we’re allowing this administration to continue to do this,” commented Victor Avila, a former homeland security agent now running for Congress in south Texas.
“We’ve seen hundreds of illegals come through here without absolutely no restriction. I don’t hear anybody seeking asylum,” he added.
