Jewish Center Attacked (Video)

(TheIndependentStar.com) – Vicious antisemitic attacks across the US are not subsiding as the Chabad Jewish Student Center at the University of Southern California has become the latest target of pro-Islamist terrorism vandalism.

Two individuals were recorded on security footage forcefully kicking the center’s glass door before fleeing the scene, The College Fix reports.

The center subsequently posted the video and photos on Instagram, highlighting the damage, which included broken glass and scratch marks on the entrance.

The incident, captured in a video timestamped at 10:10 p.m., involved the two suspects approaching and then quickly retreating from the building.

“Two thugs just smashed the glass on our front door and ran off. Hoping @uscedu DPS can track them,” stated the Instagram post from Chabad USC.

The center also expressed relief that no individuals were near the door at the time and discussed the need to secure the entrance temporarily.

“Our world keeps getting crazier! Thank G-d none of the kids were near the door and we are all safe. Have to figure out something to secure the front door until we can get this fixed,” it added.

A corresponding entry in the USC Department of Safety daily crime log matches the time and location of the incident reported by the Chabad house.

Furthermore, NBC Los Angeles provided additional context, noting that Rabbi Dov Wagner and his family, including six children, were inside during the attack.

“Suddenly, we heard a smash, crashing glass, so I came toward the front door,” the rabbi explained.

He detailed how four individuals approached the house on bicycles, with two dismounting to kick the door. He commented on the frightening nature of the unexpected attack.

“When you don’t know what’s coming at you, it’s a scary moment. In a normal situation, it might not have had quite such a fright, but this year has been anything but normal,” Wagner said.

Recent months have seen a notable increase in antisemitic incidents on college campuses, a trend that intensified following the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel.

Allegations of antisemitism at USC have been persistent, with previous years also marked by concerns.

In 2022, the Department of Education launched an investigation into the university after reports emerged of Jewish student leaders being harassed.

This harassment was reportedly due to perceived insensitive remarks about race or their support for Israel, according to The College Fix.

Additionally, last fall, a Jewish economics professor faced restrictions from campus following a confrontation with pro-Palestinian student demonstrators, though he was subsequently allowed to return.
