GOP Proposes ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ Bill?!

(TheIndependentStar.com) – Minnesota Republicans are making history with a bold move to officially recognize “Trump Derangement Syndrome” as a legitimate mental health diagnosis under state law.

Authored by five GOP state senators, the bill seeks to acknowledge the irrational hatred many on the left exhibit toward President Donald Trump and his supporters.

If passed, this groundbreaking legislation would validate what conservatives have observed for years about the unhinged reactions of Trump critics.

Minnesota State Senators Eric Lucero, Steve Drazkowski, Nathan Wesenberg, Justin Eichorn, and Glenn Gruenhagen introduced the bill.

It defines Trump Derangement Syndrome as the “acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal persons” in reaction to everything Trump-related.

The condition appears particularly evident among Democrats and media figures who seem unable to discuss any topic without bringing up their hatred for the 47th president.

According to the proposed legislation, symptoms include “Trump-induced general hysteria, which produces an inability to distinguish between legitimate policy differences and signs of psychic pathology in President Donald J. Trump’s behavior.”

This describes the behavior conservatives have witnessed from political opponents who are obsessed with attacking the president rather than addressing real issues facing Americans.

This legislative effort was inspired by Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and X (formerly Twitter).

Musk has previously acknowledged that Trump Derangement Syndrome is “a real thing.”

The tech mogul has become increasingly vocal about the irrational hatred directed at the president and his supporters from establishment figures and leftist politicians.

The bill faces an uphill battle in the Democrat-controlled Minnesota Senate. Senate Majority Leader Erin Murphy dismissed the bill as “wasteful, frivolous and shameful.”

Murphy’s claim that the legislation “trivializes mental health issues” rings hollow, considering how often leftists have armchair-diagnosed Trump and his supporters with various psychological conditions.

Minnesota Senate Minority Leader Mark Johnson acknowledged the proposal has elements that are “tongue in cheek.”

Still, he highlighted a serious point: Democrats’ obsession with President Trump comes at the expense of addressing issues that actually matter to Minnesota citizens.

“Senate Republicans have always supported mental health funding, trying to make sure that there are resources available for that,” Johnson noted.

The term “derangement syndrome” has bipartisan historical roots. It was coined in 2003 by Charles Krauthammer.

The conservative commentator used it to describe “the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the presidency—nay—the very existence of George W. Bush.”

The phenomenon has arguably reached unprecedented levels with President Trump, whose mere existence seems to trigger uncontrollable fury among his political opponents.

While the bill may not pass the Democrat-controlled legislature, it serves an important purpose by highlighting how the left’s hatred of President Trump has become pathological and counterproductive to civil discourse.
