In a Twitter feud over abortion rights, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) told former Vice President Mike Pence, “Absolutely no one wants to hear what your plan is for their uterus,” after the former Vice President revealed Republican Congressional majorities would be pro-life.

The feud was prompted by an announcement by President Joe Biden on Tuesday (October 18) that the first bill he’d send to Congress — if Democrats hold onto their Congressional majorities — would be one to codify Roe v. Wade.

By Tuesday night, Pence had tweeted, “I’ve got news for President Biden. Come January 22nd, we will have Pro-Life majorities in the House and Senate and we’ll be taking the cause of the right to Life to every state house in America!”

His assertions, Republicans would support “the right to Life” angered many progressives, including a reaction from Ocasio-Cortez, who only replied to Pence’s tweet on Wednesday (October 20) night.

The New York Democrat used Pence’s opening line in her rebuttal, tweeting, “And I’ve got news for you: Absolutely no one wants to hear what your plan is for their uterus.”

Ocasio-Cortez’s and Pence’s exchange comes in the final countdown to the midterms, as Democrats attempt to make abortion access a key focus on the ballot.

Following the ruling by the Supreme Court that returned the decision on access to abortions to the state, Democrats have argued a liberal majority would codify Roe v. Wade. But Republicans haven’t focused much on the topic; instead, choosing to shift focus to the economy and rising inflation in their respective Congressional bids.
