(TheIndependentStar.com) – In a sincere declaration leaving no doubt where he stands, billionaire Elon Musk has declared that “we’re at a fork in the road of destiny,” as he articulated his reasons for supporting former President Donald Trump’s candidacy in the 2024 election.

Musk made the declaration before Trump during a discussion on X Space, Breitbart News reports.
“We’re at a fork in the road of destiny of civilization, and I think we need to take the right path, and I think you’re the right path,” he said.
Musk also shed light on his political alignment, describing himself historically as a “moderate Democrat” or “slightly left,” but criticized the Democrats for moving too far from these moderate positions.
He called upon other moderates to support Trump, telling the former president, “You are the path to prosperity,” while contrasting this with Vice President Kamala Harris, whom he described as “the opposite.”
“I’d just like to note to the people listening, I’ve not been very political before,” Musk remarked.
He addressed the misconceptions about his political stance, clarifying, “They try to paint me as a far right guy, which is absurd because I like making electric vehicles, and solar, and batteries, helping the environment.”
Musk reflected on his previous political engagements.
“I supported Obama, I stood in line for six hours to shake Obama’s hand when he was running for president,” he said, demonstrating that his support has not been exclusively for one political party.
“So it’s not like I’m some sort of dyed in the wool, long-term Republican. I’d actually call myself historically a moderate Democrat,” Musk said.
“But now, I feel like we’re really at a critical juncture for the country,” he added, indicating a shift in his political urgency.
He expressed disappointment with the Biden administration, which he had hoped would be moderate but described as otherwise.
Musk warned of a shift further to the left with Kamala Harris, pointing out her background influenced by her father, a Marxist economist.
“I mean, her dad is literally a Marxist economist. You can Google it. We’re not making that up. That’s how she was brought up,” he said.
“I’m just trying to tell people my honest opinion. I haven’t really been active in politics before, and I’m just trying to point out that my track record historically has been moderate — if not moderate, slightly left,” the billionaire elaborated.
Concluding his advocacy, Musk encouraged moderates to support Trump, stating, “So this is to people out there who are in the moderate camp: I think you should support Donald Trump for president.”
