Here’s what happened…

As the omicron variant, which was recently identified by the World Health Organization, continues to spread through Africa and some parts of Europe, President Biden attempted to stop the spread of the virus by banning travel to some countries.

President Biden placed a ban on eight African countries which include: South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique and Malawi.

Biden also appears to have new rules, which he is expected to unveil soon, that will put new restrictions on travel such as quarantining for seven days and even taking rapid PCR tests before traveling.

Now, according to Newsmax, Former President Donald Trump’s former Surgeon General Jerome Adams believes this move to ban eight African nations was completely “xenophobic” and many people agree. How could President Biden and his administration who have been so firm about fighting racism ban travel from predominantly black countries?

Adams pointed out that the travel ban seemed strange to him because the omicron variant was also found in parts of Europe. So why no bans for them?

“It’s really frustrating to me that we have a xenophobic travel ban against only south African countries when we know that over a dozen mostly European countries, mostly white countries, have shown the virus,” Adams said.

The omicron variant is being reported as a highly mutated virus and is more easily transmissible. With winter quickly approaching infection rates could soon soar here in the United States.
