On Tuesday (March 14), Florida Governor Ron DeSantis released graphic footage of the results of trans surgeries, alongside footage of President Joe Biden calling the Governor’s policies “cruel.”

Biden made the remarks on a Monday night appearance on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” saying, “what’s going on in Florida” in regards to transgender policies is “close to sinful.”

A day later, DeSantis released a split-screen video, with Biden’s remarks playing on the left, while on the right, a series of still images of double mastectomies and skin graft scars were displayed.

At the bottom of the screen, read, “Biden thinks it’s ‘cruel’ Florida banned these surgeries for children.”

In the video, Biden claims that Florida’s policies are “terrible.”

The President added that children don’t wake up “one morning” and decide to become a man or woman.

Biden continued, stating that children “are human beings” who have feelings and inclinations, sharing his belief there should be legislation protecting transgender surgeries for minors.

Users took to Twitter to share their disagreement with Biden. Stephen Miller, an advisor for former President Donald Trump and founder of America First legal, tweeted, “Horrifying. Child sexual mutilation must be banned in all fifty states.”

Although Biden didn’t specify the legislation he was criticizing, Florida had recently joined several states in banning treatments like prescribing puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones or conducting gender transition surgeries on minors.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, DeSantis, quote tweeting a video of Biden making his remarks, hit back, saying it isn’t “sinful” to “prohibit the mutilation of minors.”

DeSantis added that it isn’t “acceptable for the federal government to mandate” allowing sex change surgeries on minors.
